Albert Kahn, the architect who defined Detroit

Albert Kahn, sometimes called architect of Detroit, was born on March 21, 1869 in Rhaunen, Germany. He was the son of an itinerant rabbi. In his early age Kahn did not attend school but did various jobs instead and took art lessons from a sculptor named Julius Melchers.
